At BEIRC, Research is a way of life
Team BEIRC has tied up with many organizations in its endeavor to further the cause of research. With Eindhoven Robotics, it is in the thick of developing robots for Cochlear Implants, and Skull Base surgeries. BEIRC is recognized by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences as a center of excellence for Skull Base Surgeries and Cochlear Implants and is in the process of formalizing fellowships in these subspecialties. Ramaiah University has been a long-standing partner for cadaveric facilities and hands-on training. The WSB Fellowship Diplomas in Skull Base Surgery offered by World Skull Base in Bangalore is the 1st curriculum-based skull base courses in India that are awarded a University Diploma, thanks to Ramaiah University. Dr. Rao is currently working on a project with Cochlear for the development of an intracochlear electrode for monitoring the function of cochlear nerves and also in the field of Auditory Brainstem Implants. He is also the resource person for R&D labs at Bien Air, Medtronic, and Cochlear. BEIRC is aided by World Skull Base, Aadhya Healthcare Private Limited, and Kishore Chandra Prasad Research Foundation for their research and academic activities.
